What is the Foiling Pipeline?

The Foiling Pipeline is America One Racing’s broad-based development program designed to identify, support and elevate the next generation of U.S. sailing talent by serving as a conduit into modern high-performance sailing.

Emerging Talent, Structured Development

Think of it as an incubator. Its focus is squarely on youth and emerging athletes who are learning and advancing within today’s foiling classes, which include the Wingfoil, Waszp SWITCH and other high-performance platforms that now define Olympic sailing. By providing young sailors with structured coaching, equipment access, clinics, national training camps, and regatta-ready learning environments, the Foiling Pipeline builds the essential skills needed for high-performance foiling.

It is a long-term, inclusive, and forward-looking program designed to develop depth across multiple foiling classes while introducing athletes to the technical, tactical and physical demands of modern competitive sailing. Through collaboration with high-level coaching groups, sports-science specialists and partner organizations, this A1R initiative creates a well-defined pathway with that helps motivated sailors confidently advance.

Collaborate Early, Connect Locally

A key strength of the Foiling Pipeline is that it begins at the local level, where home-grown talent is nurtured and supported by their own communities. Rather than operating separately from youth sailing programs, America One Racing actively seeks out yacht clubs, coaches and regional programs that are already committed to foiling classes.

The collaboration starts early, sharing the national foiling tour schedule, aligning on development goals, and building a roadmap that supports both the athlete and the community around them. This ensures that aspiring sailors can stay connected to their local support systems while gaining access to the resources and coaching they need to reach the next level.

Community Focus, National Growth

For athletes, the entry point is simple and accessible: start where you are. Sailors can begin their foiling journey at their home club building skills, racing locally and showing commitment along the way. A1R keeps a close eye on this progress through our relationships with regional programs, identifying motivated sailors who stand out. When an athlete reaches a readiness threshold (technically, physically and competitively), they are invited to join one of our national Foiling Pipeline camps.

These camps offer advanced instruction, exposure to higher competition standards and the first steps into a truly high-performance training environment. In this way, the Foiling Pipeline grows from the ground up: clubs support the early stages of development, the Pipeline provides the structure and expertise, and together we give the next generation of U.S. sailors a clear and supported pathway into elite performance.
