Makani Andrews, iQFOil

Makani Andrews, a 17-year-old from Kāneʻohe, Hawaii, grew up immersed in sailing, following in the footsteps of his college-sailing parents. He began competing at age four in the Bullship race and quickly excelled across classes like El Toros, O’pen Bics, and high-performance sails. His achievements include victories at the O’pen Bic North American Championships, El Toro Season Points, and IQ Foil Nationals. Between 2022 and 2024, Andrews consistently delivered podium-worthy performances, including a bronze medal at the 2023 Youth World Championships in Lake Garda, Italy, and first-place finishes at the 2024 USA Youth Worlds Qualifier and U19 USA Wing Foil Nationals. With high school graduation approaching, Andrews is now pursuing his dream of representing the USA in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in the iQFOil Windsurfing class, truly embodying his Hawaiian name, “wind.”

Paris Henken, 49erFX

Paris Henken, a 29-year-old sailor from Coronado, California, has established herself as a standout competitor in the 49erFX women’s skiff class. Beginning her sailing journey at age six in Dana Point, she rose through the ranks, excelling in the 29er class with multiple championship wins. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Biology, Henken earned national titles and All-American honors during her college sailing career. Henken’s achievements include a Bronze Medal at the 2015 Pan American Games, a 10th-place finish at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games with teammate Helena Scutt, and top-10 results at prestigious regattas such as the 2023 French Olympic Week and 2024 Trofeo Princesa Sofía. She also claimed first place at the 2024 E Scow National Championship and was named Quantum Women’s College Sailor of the Year in 2021. Now reunited with Helena Scutt, Henken is embarking on a campaign for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, aiming to represent Team USA and pursue gold with unwavering commitment and skill.

Noah Lyons, iQFOil

Noah Lyons, a 23-year-old iQFoil sailor from Clearwater, Florida, began his sailing journey at age six and started competing in the Opti class at eight. Transitioning to windsurfing at 11, he excelled in classes such as Techno293, Kona, and RS:X, while also training in the Formula class. At 15, he entered the Olympic sailing pathway through the 49er, earning a spot on the US Olympic Development Team and competing against world champions and Olympic medalists. A graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Microbiology and a minor in Infection Control, Lyons launched his first Olympic campaign in 2022 in the iQFoil class. He achieved a ninth-place finish at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, after qualifying both himself and the U.S. for the event. Lyons has also secured significant victories, including first-place finishes at the iQFOiL International Games, US National Championship, and North American Championship. Now focused on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Lyons is determined to bring home gold for Team USA.

Ian MacDiarmid, 49er

Ian MacDiarmid, an accomplished sailor from San Diego, California, and raised in South Florida, has built a distinguished career in competitive sailing. Beginning at age seven in the Optimist dinghy, he represented the United States at seven international championships as part of the Opti National Team, including two IODA European Championships. Transitioning to high-speed skiff sailing, MacDiarmid excelled in the International 29er class, highlighted by a victory at the 2016 Orange Bowl Regatta. Specializing in the Olympic 49er class, MacDiarmid has achieved significant milestones, including becoming the 2016 49er US National Champion. He has delivered three top-10 finishes at the 49er World Championships and reached a career-high World Sailing ranking of #3. Now campaigning alongside Nevin Snow, he aims to represent the United States and win gold at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Charlotte Rose, ILCA 6

Charlotte Rose, an rising star from Houston, is determined to win a medal at the 2028 Olympics. She discovered sailing at nine and rose swiftly through the ranks, earning back-to-back golds at the 2017 and 2018 Youth Sailing World Championships. A graduate of the Houston Yacht Club’s learn-to-sail program, she joined the US Olympic Development Program at 15 and built an impressive career, including silver at the 2019 Pan American Games, a win at the 2021 ILCA North American Championship, and silver at the 2024 ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship. At 22, Rose secured the U.S. qualification for the 2024 Olympics with a fifth-place finish at the 2023 Allianz Sailing World Championships before finishing second at the 2024 World Championship. Now fully committed to her Olympic campaign, she trains at the highest level in pursuit of gold.

Noah Runciman, Formula Kite

Noah Runciman is determined to win gold at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Raised on the South Texas Coast, he began sailing Optis at six, later competing in the Laser and 420 classes before discovering kiteboarding at 16. By 2021, he had committed to kite racing full-time, earning notable results such as a Bronze Medal at the 2024 Olympic Trials in Long Beach, a Silver Medal at the 2023 US Open Sailing Series in Miami, and finishing as the top U.S. competitor at the 2023 Super Worlds in The Hague. Balancing his athletic career with academics, Runciman is pursuing a Bachelor in Aviation Science at Texas A&M while training to become a commercial pilot. With the support of a world-class training partnership, he continues to push boundaries both on and off the water, channeling his determination toward Olympic triumph.

Nevin Snow, 49er

Nevin Snow, a 31-year-old sailor from San Diego, California, has established himself as a top competitor in the 49er class with a career marked by elite performance and resilience. He began sailing at age eight, mastering fleets such as Naples Sabots, Lasers, and CFJs, before excelling as a match racer at international events, earning medals at the Laser Radial U18 Worlds, Youth Match Race Worlds, and World University Games. Snow honed his skills at Georgetown University, achieving four All-American honors, two College Sailor of the Year titles, and multiple national championships. In 2017, Snow transitioned to the Olympic 49er class, narrowly missing qualification for Tokyo 2020 and earning third place at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Paris 2024. A dedicated athlete recognized for his adaptability and teamwork, he trained with Team USA representatives Ian Barrows and Hans Henken, contributing to their bronze medal success in Paris. Now partnered with Ian MacDiarmid, Snow is focused on representing Team USA and pursuing gold at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Helena Scutt, 49erFX

Helena Scutt, a decorated sailor and mechanical engineer from Kirkland, Washington, balances elite competition with cutting-edge innovation. A Stanford University graduate with degrees in Biomechanical and Mechanical Engineering, Scutt captained the Stanford Varsity Sailing Team to record-breaking finishes at Team Race and Coed Nationals. She launched her first Olympic campaign with Paris Henken in the 49erFX class, winning the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials and finishing 10th at the Rio Olympics. Together, they also earned a Bronze Medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. Scutt transitioned to Moth sailing, claiming the Women’s World title at the 2022 Moth Worlds, before joining American Magic in 2023 as a Mechatronics Engineer for the 37th America’s Cup, where she designed sailors’ interfaces and onboard software. She also competed in the AC40 for the Women’s America’s Cup team. In February 2025, Scutt reunited with Henken to launch their campaign for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, bringing years of experience and dedication to their pursuit of Olympic gold.

Dominique Stater, iQFOil

Dominique Stater, a 24-year-old iQFOiL athlete, is striving to represent Team USA at the 2028 Olympics. After discovering windsurfing in Buenos Aires in 2012, she quickly rose through the ranks, representing the U.S. at the 2018 Youth Olympics and competing at the Youth World Championships in China and Poland. A graduate of the University of Miami, she reignited her passion for the sport through coaching and foiling while completing her studies. In 2022, Stater committed full-time to her Paris 2024 Olympic campaign, securing the U.S. berth with a victory at the Olympic Team Trials and earning a silver medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile. Her career highlights also include podium finishes at the US Open Series and Pan American Games Test Event. With a diverse upbringing spanning six countries and an unwavering drive, Stater now focuses her efforts on achieving Olympic gold at Los Angeles 2028.
